Pride Special

On this episode, we celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. Local Switchboard’s Jordan Gass-Poore’ speaks with Eric Marcus, founder and host of the podcast Making Gay History, and Jason Baumann, the Susan and Douglas Dillon assistant director for collection development and coordinator of the New York Public Library’s LGBTQ initiative. Later in the show, Claire Potter with the podcast Exiles on 12th Street remembers her own early history as a lesbian in the Village, and visits some of the iconic sites that helped define the evolving Queer community. And we end the episode with Local Switchboard’s Sarah Montague, who gives us a view from her window at the epicenter of Pride.
